From Jeff Greer

My name is Jeff Greer and I am running for Marion County Constable Precinct 2. I have been involved in law enforcement since 1988. I have been a Texas peace officer for over 20 years and currently hold a Master Peace Officer license with approx. 5,788 training hours. A lot of my training hours are in advanced narcotic investigation, violent crime & death investigation, and FEMA Emergency Management.

I am currently employed full-time as a patrol deputy with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. I have spent the majority of my Texas law enforcement career with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office either in a full-time or part-time capacity starting out with Sheriff Eugene Tefteller and now for our current Sheriff, David McKnight. During my career here, I have always actively patrolled Precinct 2 and aggressively dealt with the problematic areas.

I live in the Smithland area near the geographical center of Precinct 2. The primary duties of a Texas Constable is {sic} to serve the Justice Court of the precinct where elected. Upon me being elected to this position, I will attend all meetings required by the County Judge and/or Commissioners. I will attend all Justice Court Sessions and ensure that all civil process documents are promptly served.

A few of my goals are as follows:

  • Have more community involvement.
  • Maintain positive communications between the citizens and the office of Constable.
  • Continuing my visibility of effective patrols that encompass all areas of Precinct #2 with a concentration on known problem areas.

I am also retired from the United States Air Force (20+yrs) with a strong work ethic and extreme dedication to the citizens of Marion County. As Constable, I will maintain my working relationship that I have developed with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, and all local/state law enforcement agencies. If needed,d my phone number is 903-278-5200 and if I don’t answer please leave a voicemail and I will return your call. I humbly ask for your support and thank you in advance for your consideration.
