Marion County Judge Leward LaFleur, Mayor Pro Tem Victor Perot, and Emergency Management Coordinator David Capps, jointly released the COVID-19 Response for Marion County. The nine page document puts into place a 3-Phase Community Mitigation Plan outlining mandatory/recommended bans, healthcare directives, and provides information on recommended actions.
“I hope with this plan in place, Marion County can most effectively overcome the COVID-19 virus situation, and demonstrate to all of Texas what a strong, family first community we are,” said LaFleur. “Being a Texan means being resilient, strong, and compassionate. These are the greatest of attributes of the people in Marion County! As a county we are never stronger than when we are tested. We must remain calm in the face of panic and be more together than ever before and while we are advised to be apart.”
Currently Marion County is still in Phase 1 (Voluntary Guidelines) of the plan.
The plan also corresponds with the plans of surrounding counties, however, some of those counties are in different phases.
