Jefferson’s Boy Scout Troop 555 built, installed, and dedicated a new flagpole for the Jefferson Police Departments headquarters on North Alley Street this morning.
Scouts attempted to dedicate a pole last week, but due to problems with a purchased pole they decided to go back to the drawing board and redesign a more lasting project. Will Baldwin led the team of scouts on this project.
All materials were donated from area individuals including a 20 foot piece of drill stem, the pulley, rope, paint, etc. Scouts then spent the week preparing and installing the new pole. They will be coming back to design and build a decorative base for the area.
