A fire broke out Thursday afternoon at the Jefferson Fudge Shop & Old on Walnut Street but was quickly contained with minimal damage.
Repairs were being made to the awnings in front of the building when workers noticed smoke from the front facade. It was quickly quenched, but Jefferson Fire Department was called out to ensure safety.
No one was injured in the incident.
The shop should return to normal operations in the next couple of days.
