According to the Texas Secretary of State’s office the first day to file for a place on the May 1, 2021, municipal elections was Wednesday, January 13.
The City of Jefferson will hold regular elections on Saturday, May 1, 2021.
Positions on the ballot which are up for election are:
- Alderman Ward 1
- Alderman Ward 2
- Alderman Ward 3
Currently the positions up for election are held by
- Alderman Ward 1: Jim Finstrom
- Alderman Ward 2: Tyrani Braddock
- Alderman Ward 3: Victor Perot
The deadline to file to seek election to one of these positions is 5 p.m. Friday, February 12, 2021.

Council is scheduled to formally call for an election for these offices at their regular meeting at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 19, 2021.
