Area Wide Bazaar slated for May 1

Don’t miss the opportunity to play, shop or sell at South Side Chapel’s Bazaar on Saturday, May 1. The public is welcome to enjoy the day from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. at 1949 Pops Landing Road, 3.5 miles east of Hwy. 259 off Hwy. 450 in Ore City.

There will be fun games and activities for kids. 

Organizers say there will be oodles of free clothing— including children as well as adult sizes, dollar (hot) dogs and refreshments of all sorts.

Vendors are requested for indoor table/chair or a big outdoor spot with your set-up, either just $10. They are welcome to make crafts, sell tools, décor, gifts, fashion, food, homemade items, furniture, antiques, garage sale items, sports gear, vehicles, whatever.

County to rededicate Courthouse

Marion County elected officials and employees invite the public to come celebrate the official re-opening of the 1913 Historic Courthouse at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 22.

The courthouse has undergone 2.6 years of complete renovation through a grant provided by the Texas Historical Commission Courthouse Restoration program.

There will be a brief ceremony on Austin Street and then an open house and reception in the courtroom.

Naples plans 83rd Watermelon Festival

The 83rd Naples Watermelon Festival will be celebrated July 24, 2021 at the Melon Patch on Front Street, Naples Texas.

Traditional events will include an antique car show, bingo, corn hole, dance, horseshoes, parade, music, the Biggest Watermelon Contest, a Queen’s Contest and free ice cold watermelon.
