Rabbi Linda/Bethel Temple Fellowship

Shalom Chaverim,

God met the Israelite’s at Mt Sinai on Pentecost.  All the people answered as one, “everything God has said “WE WILL DO.” Exodus 19:7-8   Marriage is bride and groom entering covenant vows together by saying, “We DO!”

On Pentecost, God’s people entered a holy matrimony with God.  Much like our marriage vows when we are committing to each other.  God’s ordinance and marriage contracts are understood as, “I take you to be my wedded husband /wife to have from this day forward for better or worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness or health, to love till death do us part.  Marriage should be a love contract of working things out till death do us part.

God is faithful no matter how we treat Him.  We may forsake Him, but He still loves and forgives us.  He is with us in the good and bad times.

Israel’s marriage contract was and is God’s commandments.  “If you love Me, you will keep my commandments.”  If you love Me keep your vows.  God descended on Mt Sinai meeting with His people.  Thundering, lighting, sounding of the shofar(trumpet) a thick cloud appeared.  The mountain was enveloped in smoke because God descended on it in fire!

Moses ascended the mountain and came down with the WORD (marriage contract, Commandments) God gave us Himself in Word and Spirit to the world. This is the greatest manifestation of His glory, existing long before the creation.  “In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God, and the word was God.”  John 1:1

God desires to be active in the physical world with us.  In this we see God’s design of creation and the revelation why the earth is here.

The first Pentecost (Mt Sinai) was the first place since the fall of man that the Word engaged with men and enabling man to stand in the presence of God.

Heaven with earth:  the WORD brings  SPIRITUAL to the PHYSICAL and redefining things in the natural.

The Fullness of Pentecost in Acts, after Messiah’s resurrection, was the baptizing of men in His Holy Spirit and Fire and merging His Spirit into man making us one in Him.  Yeshua is the fullness of Word and Spirit.  He came in the flesh redeeming us through the shedding of His blood and rose from the dead. Those receiving Yeshua become one in Him as the Spiritual and Physical meet.

God supernaturally merged into our lives past, present, and future.  God is Spirit and Truth and supernatural love.  The copycat spirit is supernatural evil, manifesting itself in lies, fear, and evil rituals that do not last.  Pagan gods always require something from men.

God made it easy for mankind sacrificing Himself once and for all to free us from supernatural evil.   “The wide road leads to destruction; narrow leads to eternal life.” Matt 7:13-14

We make life complicated looking to men’s theologies and religions.  That is not God’s Love.  God Himself, is love.  Love is our relationship emerging in Him, knowing Him, and trusting His love no matter what we have done.  God loves you “for better or worse.”

God’s fire is still burning up the chaff in us.  That is to say, the fleshly or materials things fighting against Him.  God descended upon Mt. Sinai in fire.  Two thousand years later after His resurrection, Yeshua sent His Holy Spirit which descended upon His people in fire.  “There appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire and it sat upon each of them.”  Acts 2:3.

In 2021, God’s fullness is His Word, Spirit, in men.  How abundantly stronger is His fire descending upon His people?  God’s Fire descends as worship goes up, hovering upon His place of worship.  Look for His fire hovering upon His place of worship in Jefferson’s Synagogue!

Hebrew Word    Shavuot: “Weeks”

Conclusion of Omer count  7 weeks  49 -50 days to Pentecost.  Pentecost: “Fiftieth day”.  Lev: 23;15-16
