Culminating at Road America in Wisconsin this month, Ted Melady qualified the Jefferson TX Police Department MGB in 2 separate classes for the Sports Car Club of America National Championships to be held at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway the first weekend of October. The road course at Indy utilizes multiple turns in the infield in concert with sections of the oval’s straight between turn 2 and 3 as well as the front straight with the famous brick start/finish line.

The JPD-MG qualified in F-Production following events at Sebring, Florida, Austin, Texas, and Hallett, Oklahoma. This was followed up by qualifying in H-Production by competing at Decatur, Texas, Angleton, Texas, and Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin.

Having a better chance of success in H-Production, that will be the only class we will contest in this year. Along with a new motor, we will be dismantling and inspecting much of the car in preparation, and treating it to a fresh paint job
