Meetings resume
Jefferson Citizen Action & Diversity Committee meetings will resume Monday, October 18.
They group will meet from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Transportation Building.
Visitors are encouraged to bring ideas, friends, issues and solutions.
The committee will also discuss city beautification, issues, process improvements and needed initiatives.
CLHRC to Meet
The Caddo Lake Historical Research Committee will meet Saturday, October 16, 2021, at 2 pm at the Fellowship Hall of the First Baptist Church, Gray, Texas. The Church is at the corner of Highway 49 and FM 727.
The meeting will feature the Pleasant Hill Quilters of Linden, Texas.
This will be an outstanding meeting. It is FREE!

Celebration of Life
A Celebration of Life for William Earl Pate will be held at 3 p.m., October 24, at Legends O’ The Pines Social Club. Pate passed away August 27, 2021.
JAAC, JCLEP plans Meet and Greet
The Jefferson Adopt-A-Cop and Jefferson Community Law Enforcement Program are holding a Meet and Greet from 4-7p October 26 at the Jefferson Community Center, 501 Haywood.
The groups want locals to be able to meet their local law enforcement officers and volunteers and to learn about other resources available to the community.
All are welcome – both children and adults. There will be games, activities, introduction to resources and a light meal starting at 5:30p. The event is free.

Conservation Assistance Deadline Set
The USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) in Texas has announced the first funding application deadline of October 29, 2021, for the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP). A second funding application deadline will be February 11, 2022.
Applications are taken year round for NRCS programs, but deadlines are announced to rank and fund eligible conservation projects. Producers interested in signing up for EQIP should submit applications to their local USDA service center. If already a USDA client, a producer can submit applications online via Farmers.gov.
More Livestream Sports Coming!
The Jefferson Jimplecute and Marion County Herald tested a livestream of the District Opening Volleyball game against Waskom recently. We’re working on getting things up and going and hope to keep this going at Home Games.
If you’re interested in helping out or sponsoring a player or the game, let us know! Part of the proceeds will be donated to the Jefferson Athletic Booster Club. Prices start at $25 for parent ads and are displayed on a rotating basis throughout the game.
