Sheriff’s office victim of Christmas Tree theft

Staff Reports

The Marion County Sheriff’s office is not immune to crime.

According to Sheriff David Capps, about 10 p.m. Friday night a truck pulled up next to the float and pulled a Christmas tree into the cab.

The truck appears to be a 4-door Chevy. The color of the truck is unclear as the video recording is black and white.

The suspect appears to be a male with a beard.

The vehicle turned left and went back towards town.

The office has video which will be posted tomorrow.

Last year, the department had various stuffed decorations disappearing from their display at the front door to the Jail.

Investigation turned out that it was a stray dog taking the stuffed decorations.

If anyone has information regarding the Christmas Tree theft they should contact the Marion County Sheriff’s office.
