Weekly Grief Support Group

First United Methodist Church will begin hosting a Weekly Grief Support Group meeting from 4-6p on Sunday’s starting March 6, in the FUMC Fellowship Hall, 506 s. Line St. For more information, contact the church at fumc305jef@aol.com The group is open to everyone experiencing the grief of loss of a loved one.

Honeybees

Jefferson’s “Bee Man” Stanford Brantley wants to remind everyone as the weather starts getting warmer honeybees will being moving around. If you find a hive of bees, he asks that you contact him to come remove the bees instead of killing them. Bees will often rest in water meter covers or other similar protected spaces. Seeking Most Senior, Youngest Residents

The Jimplecute is assisting in identifying the “Most Senior Resident” and the “Youngest Resident” of the City of Jefferson and of Marion County. If you know of a resident who is 100+, or under 1, please let us know. 903-665-2462

Dual Credit

If you have a student in 8th grade or above who is interested in dual credit, please plan to attend the mandatory Dual Credit Parent Meeting on March 9 at 6 pm at JHS Commons Area. This is for parents of students who are NEW to JHS Dual Credit opportunities only.

Jeep Show

Big Cypress Corvette Club is sponsoring a Jeep Show in downtown Jefferson on March 11-12. There is a $30 entry fee. For more information, contact Hollis Shadden.

The Marion County Chamber of Commerce is again holding their Bags & Bingo! night fundraiser on March 17. For more information, contact the Chamber at 903-665-2672.

The next meeting of the Jefferson Adopt-A-Cop will be at 5:30p March 23 at the Historic Jefferson Railway Depot.

Earth Day Paddling Flotilla

The Cypress Basin Chapter of the Texas Master Naturalists are holding their 10th Paddling Flotilla at Caddo Lake on Earth Day, April 23. The event runs from 7a-2p and starts and ends at Shady Glade Resort. Tickets are available via Eventbrite https://tinyurl.com/2022Flotilla and range from $10-$30 depending on when you register. COVID Testing, Vaccines Available

Jefferson’s Amazing Hearts Homecare and Staffing LLC is able to provide both COVID-19 testing and vaccinations available to companies and individuals. Testing can be done at workplaces or other locations by appointment. Both Rapid Testing (15 Minutes) or PCR Testing (48-72 hours) are available. Groups of 50 are required to setup vaccination
