Now’s the chance to be on the radio as KBDT 1160 in Dallas is starting a six-week campaign featuring a “Historic Salute to Jefferson” program each week.
Businesses in Jefferson are invited to participate in sponsoring the program, and will receive one 60-second promo on the air every Thursday and Friday from March 31-May 6, for a total cost of $144. Businesses interested in participating should contact Board Vice President Pam Thomas.
Hotel Occupancy Tax collections were slightly down from January 2021, with the City collecting $307 less this year, according to Tourism Board President Colleen Taylor.
“We’re still on an upward motion and we’re 16.8% above last year overall,” said Taylor. “So far we’ve collected $82,865 for the year which is $11,400 more than last year at this time.”
Website traffic is up from last year by 83% for the month of February, according to Thomas. She said the site is receiving more direct traffic as advertising campaigns are directing to the website.
Taylor also indicated the Board is participating in several trade shows over the next few months and businesses who would like to donate prizes should contact her as soon as possible.
The Board intended to discuss and approve two applications for Discretionary Funding of $1,000 each, but due to wording on the agenda, were unable to do so. The applications have been added to the April agenda.
The next Tourism Board Meeting is scheduled for April 11.
