Women’s Craft Retreat opens Saturday

Staff Report

Lacewing Creative Retreat is a new women’s craft retreat in Jefferson, TX. Lacewing can accommodate up to 13 women for a weekend stay where they can work on their favorite craft or hobby such as scrapbooking, quilting, jewelry-making, etc. Lacewing has 4 boutique bedrooms, 2 ½ baths, and 2 spacious craft rooms as well as a fully equipped kitchen and a cozy living room for the ladies to have a relaxing and comfortable weekend to enjoy their craft and spend quality time with friends.

The owners, Troy and Colette Hines, remodeled the 1950 ranch house into this beautiful retreat. They were able to fully open on July 14, with their first guests arriving minutes after the work was completed.

Lacewing not only provides the relaxation that many of these women need as they get away from their day-to-day routines, but they also provide catering from the local restaurants if the ladies want to stay in. However, they are also welcome to use the fully stocked kitchen to make their own meals as well. There are several other amenities available to the guests at Lacewing, such as design boards, cutting stations and ironing stations for the quilters, extra scrapbook supplies such as punches, scissors, rubber stamps and embellishments and paper for the scrapbookers and card-makers to use, lots of snacks (including chocolate), drinks and plenty of coffee. Each lady gets their own 5-foot table workstation which comes with an individual, adjustable light, 18”x24” self-healing cutting mat, 3-tiered rolling cart for extra supplies and tools, a foot stool to rest their feet on, cup holder, and an extremely comfortable work chair.

Lacewing is now open for reservations.
