The 1852 on Austin will celebrate its First Year Anniversary Celebration and Ribbon Cutting is at 3 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 2. It is Located at 124 E Austin St. in Jefferson. Cake and light refreshments will be served.

Jefferson’s Inaugural Dessert Contest, is set for 7 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 10, at Christ Episcopal Church, 703 S. Main St. 

Contest categories are Best Overall Dessert, Most Decadent, Most Creative, and Healthiest Choice. 

Admission is $15 perperson, $5 for children under 12, and $10 if a dessert is entered into the competition.

 Mr. J’s DJ will provide music.

Annual Citizen of the Year nomination forms will be mailed to the public next week.

Jefferson Tourism and MCCC are finalizing the downtown locations for map kiosks.

Chamber is accepting reservations for State of the City & County at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct.1. Tickets are $30 per person and $150 for a table of 6. Catered by Bear Creek Smokehouse.

Contact the Chamber office to be included in the 2023 Chamber calendar. Months and business card ads are still available.

Registration forms are available for the City-Wide Rummage Sale on Sept. 29, 30and Oct. 1. $20 to be listed on the map and for vendor space at Haywood House. Free vendor space is available at Heritage Baptist Church on Friday & Saturday only. Call the Church office at 903-665-8865 for details.
