JH Lady Dawgs to West Rusk

The Lady Bulldog junior volleyball both logged wins over West Rusk on Monday.  

Both 7th A and 8th A teams won in two sets.  

Leading in serves for 7th grade was Stormi McNeil with seven.

Leading in serves for 8th grade were Chloe Wood and AJ Cross with six each. 

Anglers compete on Wright Patman

The October bass tournament on Wright Patman is in the books. 

All tolled, 11 members of the Marion County Bass Club, and four youth, fished. 

Big Bass award went to James Chisom, 4#11oz.

Third place went to Andrew Harp, 12#1oz.

Second place went to Michael Harp, 12#9oz 

First place went to Lynn Morris, 13#0oz. 

Youth Division First Place winner was Strutt Reust, 9#7oz.

David Rhyne was named Angler of the year for 2022.

Reust was named Youth Angler of the year for 2022. 

Dawgs beat White Oak 

The Jefferson Bulldogs opened district play on the gridiron last week with a convincing 42-13 win over the White Oak Roughnecks on the road.

With the win, Jefferson improves its record to 4-2 on the season. 

The Bulldogs travel to Atlanta tonight to confront the Rabbits in a 3A-1 Region II District 6 test.

The Rabbits are 5-1 on the season coming off a 42-7 win over Sabine. 

With the loss, White Oak moves to 3-3 on the season.
