After leading the Wiley College women’s basketball team to its first season-opening victory since 2018, Kaitlyn Davis was voted Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week for October 24-30.

Davis scored a career-high 26 points to help the Lady Wildcats to a 75-60 victory over Jarvis Christian University. It’s the second time she scored 20 or more in her career. She made nine shots including four from 3-point territory – hitting 56 percent. She hit two 3-pointers in the first quarter to spark a 14-point run. Davis also contributed five rebounds and three assists. She ranks ninth in program history in made 3-pointers with 59.

Last season, Davis led the Lady Wildcats in scoring with 13.4 points per game and assists with four per game. This is the first weekly awards of the season. Wiley College won seven during volleyball season.

The Lady Wildcats will open their home schedule with their Homecoming game against Arkansas Baptist College at 2 p.m. Saturday.
