County employees will receive an additional holiday in 2023, as Commissioners approved adding San Jacinto Day, or April 21, to the holiday schedule.
With the additional, employees will receive 19 paid holidays in 2023.
Commissioners also established their meeting schedule for 2023, continuing their regular schedule of meeting twice a month – once mid-month and one near the end.
The property tax rolls got 11 parcels placed back to paying property taxes as commisisoners approved submitted bids. The parcels included (the commissioner who’s precinct the property lies is also indicated):
• Parcel 9510 – Shady Shores Hill Glen Sec/lot 177 (Treadwell) – received full bid from Jeffery Hofer in the amount of $300. This property was struck off in December 2014.
• Parcel 9509 – Shady Shores Hill Glen Sec/lots 175 & 176 (Treadwell) – received full bid from Jeffery Hofer in the amount of $500. This property was struck off in October 2004.
• Parcel 9481- Shady Shores Hill Glen Sec/lot 129 (Treadwell)- received full bid from Jeffery Hofer in the amount of $500. This property was struck off in August 2007.
• Parcel 9483 – Shady Shores Hill Glen Sec/lot 132 (Treadwell) – received full bid from Jeffery Hofer in the amount of $500. This property was struck off in November 1995.
• Parcel 14904 – Pine Harbor Sec/lot 74 (Ashley)- received full bid from Keith Kelly in the amount of $500. This property was struck off in August 2015.
• Parcel 14909 – Pine Harbor Sec/lot 79 (Ashley)- received full bid from Keith Kelly in the amount of $500. This property was struck off in August 2015.
• Parcel 14910 – Pine Harbor Sec/lot 80 (Ashley)- received full bid from Keith Kelly in the amount of $500. This property was struck off in August 2015.
• Parcel 14901- Pine Harbor Sec/lot 71 (Ashley)- received full bid from Keith Kelly in the amount of $500. This property was struck off in August 2015.
• Parcel 14903 – Pine Harbor Sec/lot 73(Ashley) – received full bid from Keith Kelly in the amount of $500. This property was struck off in August 2015.
• Parcel 14897 – Pine Harbor Sec/lot 66 (Ashley)- received full bid from Keith Kelly in the amount of $500. This property was struck off in August 2015.
• Parcel 14898 – Pine Harbor Sec/lot 67 (Ashley)- received full bid from Keith Kelly in the amount of $500. This property was struck off in August 2015.
As all the bids were for the full amount, the court only needed to approve the County Judge to sign the deeds.
In other business, Commissioners approved:
• Postage machine lease for the County Clerk’s Office at $325.08 quarterly
• Sick Leave exemption for Tax Office employee Ira Johnson
•Additional revenue received due to wreck of 2017 Sheriff’s vehicle, $2,898.78
• Additional revenue received due to wreck of 2016 Sheriff’s vehicle, $3,365.35
• Interlocal agreement with the City of Jefferson for Library Services, $7,500
• Interlocal Agreement with City of Jefferson for shared services
• 2023 Non-Departmental Contracts for Services with: Mims Ambulance Service, Mims VFD, Gray VFD, Smithland VFD, South Shore VFD, Jackson VFD, Marion County Child Services, Marion-Cass Soil & Water Conservation District, East Texas Council on Alcohol and Drugs, Community Healthcore, Cypress Valley Navigation District, and Marion County Historical Commission.
Commissioners will meet one more time in 2022 on December 30 at 9a.m
