A proper retirement

Above, VFW Post 10373 and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary held a Flag Retirement Ceremony on February 11 at the post.  “The US Flag should be treated with respect when it’s flying, and it should be treated with respect when it’s being retired,” said post commander John Cooper.  “When a flag is worn, torn, faded or badly soiled, it should be retired. If someone you know is flying a flag like this, it should be taken down and left down until it’s replaced. This is our duty.”

Post 1033 has a flag drop off box at their building on US59. They are looking for youth to assist in their next retirement ceremony. For more information contact Cooper at 903-624-9047.
