To the editor,

As a member of our local chapter of the  Daughters of the American Revolution, I would like to express my sincere appreciation for the Jimplechute’s thoughtful and generous  coverage our recent American History Essay Contest.

With the help of  the JISD administration and teachers, the contest challenged students

( grades 5-12 ) to utilize historical research and their own creativity to write about either a patriot of the American Revolution or a Founding  Father of the US Constitution.

Your being there and publishing their actual winning essays was surety a proud and inspiring  moment for these young people and their families.

Thank you for consistently providing this kind of strong  local  support  for  our community.

A quote by Henry James comes to mind, “Patriotism is like charity, it begins at home.”

Kindest regards,
