Baseball & Softball: Bulldogs, Lady Bulldogs get off to a slow start

Softball

Lady Bulldog softball started off district play 0-2 at the hands of the Tatum Eagles and the Troup Tigers. The home district opener vs the Eagles started off as a pitchers dual through four innings. 

The Eagles pushed their first run across in the top half of the fifth inning off a double from Camryn Milam scoring Noa Cart who was walked two batters before.

The following inning the Eagles blew the game open as they pushed across 17 runs in the top of the sixth. This ended up being too much for the Lady Bulldogs to overcome in the bottom of the sixth and ended their night losing 18-0.

The Tigers continued a now 3 game losing streak for hte Lady Dawgs, finishing out Tuesday’s game 14-4.

Next up the Lady Bulldogs will host Elysian Fields on Friday.

They are 6-3 overall and 0-2 in District.

Baseball

Varsity Baseball is not faring much better so far this season after losing to Elysian Fields 2-3 on Tuesday.

The Dawgs are also on a three game losing streak, having been defeated by New Boston 4-14, Hooks 7-8.

Next up for the Dawgs is DeKalb at noon on Friday.

The team is 0-3 Overall, and 01- in District play.
