The Shreveport Office of the National Weather Service has confirmed last Thursday’s tornado in Marion County’s Kellyfille are was an EF-1.
The tornado was one of six in the region and had peak winds of 105mph, and hit Marion County between 5:05-5:10p.
NWS reports stated it was 3.25 miles long and 400 yards wide at it’s maximum.
There were no reported injuries or deaths from the storm, but a number of trees were downed and property damage did occur.
NWS also said the tornado was part of a round of “low-topped super cell thunderstorms which developed and led to short-lived tornadoes.”
The storm was followed by a cold front bringing a line of thunderstorms.
Rain is expected to return to the area Thursday and Friday, then clearing Saturday. But, it returns Saturday night and Sunday.
Highs next week are expected to be in the mid-60s, with lows in the 40s.
