Street Closures

Be careful on Saturday as Woofstock kicks off to raise funds for Friends of Jefferson Animals. Buddy’s Run to the Rescue 5K kicks off at 7:30a, finishing at 9:30a, will start on Walnut Street and meander through town, so be on the watch for runners. Streets will temporarily close as groups of runners pass through. In addition, Lafayette Street from Polk to Walnut, Walnut from Lafayette to Henderson, and Henderson from Walnut to Polk, and the First National Bank parking lot, will be closed from 7:30a-3p for the festivities.

Marian Speaker

Please mark your calendars for the first Marian speaker, Father Justin Braun from Sacred Heart in Texarkana.  He celebrated Mass in Jefferson this past weekend.  He will speak on the Blessed Mother, from , 8:30-11:30a Saturday in the Parish Hall and immediately following will say the rosary at Otstott Park for the America Needs Fatima Rosary Rally.  

You can bring snacks to share during the morning and a lawn chair for the park.

Hazard Help

Mark your calendars for the 2023 Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) Spring Webinar Series. Starting April 27th, FEMA experts will provide information and insights on building successful applications within HMGP as part of FEMA’s Hazard Mitigation Assistance (HMA). Yacht Club

The Longview Yacht Club will hold a Grand Reopening Extravaganza Event from 11a-3p May 20 at 131 Yacht Club Rd, Jefferson. There will be food trucks, kids station, raffle, sunset cruise/sailboat rides, new pier dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony. 

Farmers Market

The Mims Community Center 12728 Fm 729 north side of Lake O the Pines, is holding a farmers market every Saturday through spring growing season and early fall every Saturday from 10am to 2pm. $25 to reserve a space for the 2023 season. 

Edible and usable items preferred. Plants for spring gardening will lead off the start of this project with baked goods, fresh eggs and much more. For additional information, call 903-930-5104.

Cheer Clinic
