After a 3+ year hiatus, LYC is re-introducing their popular U-Make-It, U-Sail-it  concept and initiative for youth in East Texas.

They will be using their popular one-design “LYC-8” drag racing sailboats. This event will be held on Saturday, June 10th, at Longview Yacht Club on Lake O’ the Pines.

With over 50 LYC-8 boats built and over 100 kids exposed to sailing since 2015, they are looking to introduce the next generation of  kids, parents and youth organization to this fun outdoor experience.

This event will focus on a fun day at the lake with practice races and training on LYC-8’s provided, along with boat building, sailing and future event format education.

Pre-Requisites:

Minimum age of solo or double participants is 9 years old and 7 years old for a crew. All Crew members must be able to swim. Crew must wear life jackets that are age and size appropriate.

LYC will provide 10 LYC-8’s for kids/teams to share, and a lunch of hot dogs and chips.

Participants are encouraged to bring sun screen and life-jackets.
