Marion County and Texas Park’s and Wildlife’s 24th Annual Kid’s Fish Day at Hurricane Creek Recreation Area June 3rd was a huge success.
Trophies were awarded to five different age groups for the most substantial total weight of a stringer, but the real cash prizes go to the top three biggest fish.
Tackle, live bait, snacks, drinks, and hot dogs were all furnished totally free to all participants and their accompanying adults. Also, a free gift was given to each of the first 300 kids to register!
On the first Saturday in June of each year, everyone can fish recreationally without licenses or endorsements. This opportunity exists so that more people can try fishing for the first time.
