Day 5. Here are various informational updates:
- Starting at 9am this morning (June 20th) we will activate the Emergency Distribution Center at 305 W. Austin. Below is a diagram of the traffic flow. This is a drive through event. Be sure and bring something to transport the bag of ice. Ice, water, and food are available. It is open 9a-6p
- Jefferson transportation center is open as a cooling center. Park in the LEFT side of the building. (see above map)
- Pines cafe is open for breakfast
- 8:17a Mims VFD is distributing water starting at 9a
- Crestwood One Stop is open and has ice
- All county dump sites remain open. Freezer, refrigerator, and food waste disposal continues to be free. Other items require dump ticket
- Insurance agents remind people to take pictures of food before dumping if planning on claiming on homeowners policies.
- Commissioners will meet at 2p today to discuss emergency declaration
- City council has postponed their meeting until next week
- 9a Smithland VFD has cases of water 9-noon
- Some County offices remain closed today
- Port Jefferson Outpost is only serving burgers. No breakfast next few days
- 10:45a water is available at Prospect Baptist church
- MRE (Meals Ready to Eat) are available at the Distribution Center on Austin street
- Upshur Rural added 4 more crews from West texas to help restoration efforts
- Power is starting to come back on in Pi e Harbor
- 11:17a EMC Water is back on and pumping. Restoration will be gradual as the system re-pressurizes. A BOIL NOTICE is in effect.
- 4:35p Marion County Tax office will reopen at 9a tomorrow June 21
- County dump sites Change hours:
- Pct 1: 8-4 every day this week. No charge for food items. Or brush
- Pct 2: open regular hours and days. No charge for food items or brush
- Pct 3: 8-4 Wed thru Sun. No charge for food items
- Pct 4: 10-4, thurs-Wed (june 28) no charge for food items or brush
