The Pine Harbor Owners’ Association held their annual meeting last Saturday and the members present voted to dissolve the association.
According to FaceBook posts in the Pine Harbor at Lake O’ The Pines group, the meeting was posted at the entrance to the subdivision “at least 2 weeks prior to the meeting.” Yet, other posts indicated residents were unaware of the meeting.
The association has had issues in recent years with residents not paying the required annual dues. Residents who were not paying cited the associations failure to maintain roads and amenities as to why they were not paying.
The association is having a sale of physical assets starting Tuesday at the association office.
The posts indicated that 2/3 of the people present at the meeting, who are current on their annual dues were allowed to vote on the dissolution. It was a unanimous vote of those eligible and present.
At it’s peak, the association had two pools, a boat ramp, maintained roads, security, basketball and tennis courts, and playgrounds. Over time many of these amenities were closed or came into disrepair.
As of press time Wednesday, nothing had been filed with the Marion County Clerk on the dissolution.
More details are still coming and the Jimplecute will have a follow up store in next week’s edition.
