U.S. leaders talk Ukraine

Ukraine took center stage at 1852 on Austin Street Wednesday as retired General Philip Breedlove, and former Assistant Attorney General Robert McConnell spoke to a group of Marion County citizens.

Breedlove discussed the issue involving Ukraine and how the U.S. government hasn’t done a good job of educating Americans on what is at stake if Ukraine falls to Russia.

McConnell discussed the impact the U.S. Ukraine Foundation has made over the last 30 years in working to establish democracy in the Ukraine region. The foundation was formed by his wife, Nadia, who’s family is from Ukraine.

Breedlove and McConnell were in town to discuss the ongoing conflict and to help educate people on what the foundation can do.
