Elizabeth Wiggins was born on July 28,1943 to Henry and Mary Francis Moore of Karnack, Texas. She passed away on April 23,2024 after a battle with Parkinson’s disease. She was preceded in death by her son, James L. Wiggins, Jr., her parents and a brother, Jimmie L. Moore, Jr. she is survived by her sister, Ovella Moore, Velta Taft (niece), Jimmie Moore (nephew) and Sheron Harris (sister in-law) as well as numerous friends she considered family especially, Laklin and Morgan Ashley her adopted grandchildren,
During her career she held many different jobs including Gary’s Store, City Drug, Jefferson Eye Clinic and Ozee Trucking. She was best known for her quirky personality and her ability to make you laugh about your situation even in the worst of times. She was generous, loving and willing to walk the long road with any of her friends, especially through hard times.
During this last year, Elizabeth resided at Magnolia Place where she received good care among many caregivers who became her friends also. Heritage Hospice was wonderful to Elizabeth, especially Pastor Donna. There will be a memorial in her honor on Saturday June 8, 2024 at 2 pm at 305 N. Owens Street in the back garden where it was her desire that all who knew her could attend and gather as friends and celebrate her life. Her internment will be held the following day at a private ceremony where she will be placed in her final resting place with her son James.
In lieu of flowers, any donations on her behalf should be addressed to the local pet shelter. There will also be a donation box at the memorial if you desire to bring a bag of pet food or any pet supplies.
