Our View: Just Go Out and Vote

Early voting in Texas begins Monday.

The National elections are a lot like the choice Jeffersonians faced last May — picking between two candidates that no one really wants.

Both candidates have good qualities.

Both candidates have bad qualities.

This is true regardless of the Political Office, and the candidate.

The only local item on the Ballot for some Marion County residents is whether or not to allow alcohol sales in the last remaining “dry” portion of the County. It’s also the same place Brookshires plans to relocate to in the near future.

It will be good for County Sales Taxes and therefore good for County Roads and the Sherrif’s Office.

The Jimplecute doesn’t care who you vote for. We try to be balanced, offering both parties a viewpoint each week. Sometimes its in words, sometimes in editorial cartoons.

What we do care about is that you go out and  vote.

Voting is a right given to all Americans once they turn 18. It’s no longer a privilege based on gender, color, or wealth. But it must be used to continue to move America forward.

Early Voting will be from 8a-5p Monday, October 21, through Friday, October 25; 8a-8p Saturday, October 26; Noon until 6p Sunday, October 27; and 8a-8p Monday, October 28 through Friday, October 1.

You can early vote at two locations in Marion County:

If you plan on voting by mail, then remember, that your request must be received by 5p October 25 at the Tax office. Ballots must be postmarked by Election Day, and received by 5p November 6

November 5 is Election Day nation wide.

NOT VOTING is the same as giving your vote to the candidate  you like least.

None of us like the choices. But, it’s what we’ve got. If you don’t like them, then on a local level, enter yourself next time.

But go vote.
