6. PUBLIC HEARING on the Proposed Budget for the 2026/2027 Fiscal Year.

CITIZENS IN ATTENDANCE MAY ADDRESS THE CITY COUNCIL REGARDING THE PROPOSED BUDGET FOR THE OCTOBER 1, 2026 THROUGH SEPTEMBER 30, 2027 FISCAL YEAR.

THIS BUDGET WILL RAISE MORE TOTAL PROPERTY TAXES THAN LAST YEAR’S BUDGET BY $63,433 OR 7.14%, AND OF THAT AMOUNT, $9,646 IS TAX REVENUE TO BE RAISED FROM NEW PROPERTY ADDED TO THE TAX ROLL THIS YEAR.

7. ACTION ITEMS (The following items will be considered for action):
   1. Discuss and consider action on Ordinance No. 2026-09-1 to Adopt the 2026-2027 Fiscal Year Budget
   2. Discuss and consider action on the construction of a new fire station to be used and occupied by the Jefferson Volunteer Fire Department, funded by the Jefferson Economic Development Corporation, and to be constructed on city property and dedicated to the city upon completion. Some of the discussions anticipated will include timing, the potential future use of the existing fire station, and the necessary third-party professional assistance, processes, documentation, and construction methods to be used to complete the Project.
