Tourism talks regional advertising

City of Jefferson

Staff Reports

The Jefferson Tourism Board heard presentations Tuesday  night from CBS19 and KETK out of Tyler on using some of their Hotel Occupancy Tax funds to do more streaming based advertising within 100-150 miles of Jefferson.

CBS19’s Dean Clow gave a video presentation on what their platform can provide and how reporting and accountability are key aspects to their service. They proposed a $2,000 per month program that would provide streaming ads and links to Jefferson attractions and events.

KETK provided a written proposal which was not widely discussed during the meeting.

The Board is planning a special meeting on Nov. 28 at 5:30p to discuss in depth the proposals and decide whether to accept either of them. Currently the Board is using Anderson Marketing for similar services but only in certain markets like Dallas.

In other business the board approved attending the North East Texas Trade Conventions in Dallas and Houston next spring, and noted the Texas Music Friendly Community committee would be meeting in January.
