Marion County Judge Leward LaFleur made a disaster declaration for Marion County on Sunday, July 7, ahead of the anticipated arrival of storms from Hurricane Beryl, as the county is “under immediate threat of widespread and sever damage, injury, or loss of life.”
Acting Governor Dan Patrick, as Governor Gregg Abbott is out of the country, made a state level declaration on Saturday as well.
The tropical storms are expected to start arriving Monday afternoon and Tuesday bringing significant amounts of rain and wind to the area. Local waterways are expected to be affected.
