Volleyball: Lady Dawgs off to even start

The Jefferson Varsity Lady Dawgs are off to a strong start for their 2025 season.

While losing their season opener 3-0 to Alba-Golden, the Dawgs recovered with a four-game winning streak in the Big Sandy tournament. 

They defeated Word of God Academy 2-0, Big Sandy 1-0, Hawkins 2-1, and Word of God Academy 2-0 in a second round of play. Longtime rival Chapel Hill snapped the streak at the end of the tournament 2-0.

Stats on the games have not been provided to the Jimplecute as of press time.

The Lady Dawgs also had tournament play on Tuesday against Marshall and Henderson in Marshall. They lost the games against Marshall 3-0 and  Henderson 2-1.

Their record stands at 4-4.

Play continues on at 11a Thursday in the Gilmore Tournament in Gilmer, and 6:30p Tuesday against Center. 

JV will also face Center starting at 4:30p Tuesday.
