Art Walk
Jefferson’s Art Walk is September 6 and brings over 30 artists from the region together to showcase their work. Artists are setup in various shops downtown and on hand to discuss their work.
Car Show
The first Wheels on the Bayou car show is set for September 6 on Austin street in downtown. The show runs from 8a-2:30p and is sponsored by Big Cypress Corvettes.
Grief Share
GriefShare will begin at 5p Sunday, September 7, in the Fellowship Hall of First Methodist Church, 305 W. Henderson. GriefShare is a 13-week recovery support group where you will hear insights from grief recovery experts, meet others who understand what you’re going through, receive comfort and support, learn practical tips for navigating your grief and discover the 6 signs of healing. Blood Drive
JHS will hold a blood drive from 8a-3p September 17 at the Band Hall. LifeShare will be overseeing the donation.
Story Hour
The Jefferson Carnegie Library will hold Story Hour at 10a September 17 at the Library. Kindergarten through fifth grade are welcome.
Watershed
Texas A&M AgriLife Extension office and the Texas State Soil & Water Conservation Board will present a workshop on being a Texas Watershed Steward from 9a-1p September 19 at the Kellyville Senior Center. The program will provide an overview of water quality and management, including a discussion on the Big Cypress Creek basin. The program is free, but pre-registration is recommended. APL
Animal Protection League will be in Jefferson from 10a-2p Monday, September 22, at the vacant lot next to Port Jefferson Outpost, 220 N Polk Street, with low-cost spay/neuter, and vaccinations. National Night Out
Marion County will celebrate National Night Out at 5:30p October 7 at W.F. Lockett Stadium. Enjoy an evening of family fun and community building with Marion County First Responders and other organizations.
Lecture Series
The Jefferson Historical Society and Museum will hold their quarterly lecture series at 6p October 16 at the museum.
Flag Retire
Old, tattered, or worn flags can be retired properly at the Marion County Judge’s office. A retirement box available outside his office where flags can be placed.

Honeybees are looking for their winter home. If you have bees, don’t call an exterminator. Instead, call Stanford Brantley at 903-742-2765 and let him help remove and relocate them.
