Repaving Started on Bateman’s Alley

From Staff Reports

The City’s Water and Sewer replacement project started pouring concrete today in Bateman’s Alley.

David Lawler Construction has finished replacing the water and sewer lines along the alley and this work is to repave and protect the new work. The new alleyway is setup so water will drain to the middle of the alley away from buildings and then go out on Polk and Vale Streets as appropriate.

A pressure and flow test was also conducted and the new lines have 64 psi and a flow rate of 42gpm (36 after the meter). This is an improvement over the previous lines.

The Alley is closed until Monday so the concrete has time to setup and cure.
