County sees dramatic rise in off-year election turnout

Despite a claim in another area publication, the election in Marion County had a dramatic increase in the number of voters this year.

The county had a 262.7% increase in voter turnout as compared to the last Texas Constitution amendment election in 2017. This year 885 residents voted while only 244 voted in 2017.

The county held consolidated polling locations as they have for the last several elections. And, if an application to the Secretary of State’s office for County Wide Polling Locations is approved this spring, registered voters in Marion County will be able to vote at any Marion County Polling location, not just their “home” precincts.
