AG Candidate to visit Jefferson
The public will have a chance to get-to-know Joe Jaworski this weekend in Jefferson
Jaworski is a third-generation Texas trial attorney and former mayor of Galveston, Texas.
He has filed to run in the Democratic Primary for Attorney General of Texas
Jarworski will make a meet and great stop in Jefferson at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 13 at the Jefferson Tourism Building, 305 East Austin Street.
College anglers to compete
FLW is a company that hosts fishing tournaments for college students all over the country.
One such tournament is set for this weekend at Lake O’ the Pines.
Open to college fishing teams June 11 and 12, the top 10 teams from Friday will participate in a fish- off.

All-District Honors
The District 16-3A All-District baseball teams were announced earlier this week with several Jefferson players receiving recognition.
Dameon Warren was named 1st team outfield.
Luke McMullen was named 2nd team outfield:
Bryce Clark was named 2nd team pitcher:
Caden Rutz was named 2nd team utility player:
Baylor Varnell and Judsen Carter received Honorable Mention All-District accolades.
Dessert is served
The Mims community will celebrate summer on June 19, 2021 with dessert, ice cream and a whole pie sale.
The event will run from 1-4 p.m. at the Mims Community Center located, 12728 FM 729, on the north side of Lake O’ the Pines.
You are encouraged to bring the kids or a friend and enjoy a banana split or fruit cobbler with ice cream.
Adults servings are $6. Children will be $3.
Coffee, ice tea and water will also be available.
Whole pies will be on sale to take home for $10.
