Funeral services for JoAnn Thalia Snowden Fillingim Lowery, 88, of Jefferson, Texas will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday June 26, 2021, at Lake O’ the Pines Baptist Church with Brother Shawn Thrapp and Brother Tim Shirley officiating, under the direction of Haggard Funeral Home of Jefferson, TX. Interment will follow at 3:30 PM at Tool Cemetery, 1016 Church Road Tool, Texas.
Born in Athen, Texas, she left this world on June 22, 2021 at the age of 88.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Joyce Ruth Breland and Benjamin Herbert Snowden; her brothers, Darrel and Neil Snowden; sisters Iveta Tucker and Elaine Vance; granddaughter, Kelly Kirkpatrick and a great granddaughter, Reagan Joy. She is survived by her children; Mike and Deborah Kay of Garland; Nila Kirpatrick of Haltom City; Phyllis and John Nance of Jefferson; Rhonda and Ed Brooks of Jefferson and Dale and Amy Fillingim of Campbell, Texas along with 12 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 1 great great granddaughter and one sister, Iris Dixon; and scores of nieces and nephews.
She leaves behind many devoted friends and loved ones.
She was an active member of Lake O’ the Pines Baptist Church. She was a true crazy cat lady. Her favorite pastime was cruising Facebook late at night stalking her grandchildren who have been known to message back and say, “GRANNY…GO TO BED!!!”
