Raymond Wilbur Muncrief, 88, passed away on Sunday, September 26, 2021 in Amarillo.
Services will be 4:30 PM Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Keith Feerer, minister of Mary Ellen & Harvester Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
Raymond was born August 10, 1933 in Hot Springs, Arkansas to David and Willie Muncrief. He married the love of his life, Peggy Garner, on February 27, 1955. Raymond was a Navy veteran serving his country faithfully. He worked in construction most of his life and was very handy. He would often say he was a jack of all trade and a master of none. He could repair and build just about anything. Raymond also was a heavy equipment mechanic and drove a truck cross county at the end of his work career. He retired form Scarab Manufacturing in White Deer. During his younger years he enjoyed going to the lake to water ski, fish, and spend time with his family. He was a longtime member of Mary Ellen & Harvester Church of Christ.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers; and 4 sisters.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Peggy Garner Muncrief of the home; 5 daughters, Jean Barrett of Windham, ME, Becky Adams and husband Dale of Shamrock, Kathy Shaffer and husband John of Jefferson, Amy Simpson of Marshall, and Donna Calcote of Pampa; brother, Harold Muncrief of El Cajon, CA; sister, Estelle Davis of Hot Spring, AR; 10 grandchildren, Rhonda Poole, Doug Adams, David Strickland, Christy Dewitt, Ericka Simpson, Heath Simpson, Trampas Seymour, Amanda Willey, Nancy Calcote, and Courtney Bolander; and 18 great grandchildren.
