The City and School District are halfway through the filing period for the May 2, 2020, elections, and candidates are starting to sign up for a place on the ballot.
The deadline to file for a place on the ballot is 5 p.m. February 14, 2020, at either City Hall or the JISD Administration Building.
City of Jefferson
All seats up for election have applicants, but so far only the Mayor and Alderman Ward 2 are contested. Each position serves a 2-year term.
Those seeking election are:
Ward 1
- David Westbrook, incumbent
Ward 2
- Gary Amburn
- Jamey Parsons
Ward 3
- Ted Dickson
Mayor
- Rob Baker
- Hollis Shadden
Jefferson ISD School Board
So far only two incumbents have filed for re-election. Each position is for a 2 year term.
