Last week’s Commissioner’s Court story incorrectly stated that Commissioners denied a proposed move of the Pct 2 JP and Constable’s offices. Commissioners tabled the request to do further investigation.
The story reported Commissioners had denied the request. The story also said that Moon Lake Road was renamed. However, Commissioners also tabled this request. The technically incorrect information was provided to the Jimplecute by a County Official.
Also, in last week’s Our Town Jefferson, the Jimplecute provided incorrect dates for filing for a position on the upcoming City Elections ballot.
The filing period to request a place on the ballot for one of the three Aldermen seats and the Mayor’s race are Jan. 19-Feb. 18, 2022.
Forms can be filed at Jefferson City Hall from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday, or can be mailed to City of Jefferson, 102 N. Polk St., Jefferson, TX 75657.
Mailed forms must be received prior to the close of business on February 18.
The Jimplecute also incorrectly looked at the wrong calendar on the Texas Secretary of State’s Office website.
The brief also incorrectly stated that Ward 1 Alderman Jim Finstrom’s seat was up for grabs. It is Ward 1 Alderman David Westbrooks’ seat which is up for election. Mr. Finstrom’s term runs through May 2023. The Jimplecute regrets the errors and the confusion.
