VFW to hold fish fry

The Jefferson chapter of the Veterans of Foreign Wars will host their monthly First Saturday Fish Fry this weekend. 

Set for 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, lunch will include fried fish, fries, coleslaw, beans and a drink— all for a $10 donation. 

Dessert will be available for $1. 

Lunch can be enjoyed dine-in or carryout from the Post at 1399 US-59, Jefferson. 

Are donations are tax deductible and proceeds will benefit the Post. 

Annual Parish Meeting & Luncheon

All are invited to the Annual Parish Meeting of Christ Episcopal Church at noon on Sunday. Join us for lunch and stay for the meeting as we discuss the activities and financials of the previous year, elect new members to the Bishop’s Committee and delegates to represent Christ Church at Diocesan Council.

JAAC to Meet

The regular meeting of the Jefferson Adopt-A-Cop will be at 5:30 p.m. February 9, at the Historic Jefferson Railway Depot. Everyone interested in participating in helping provide support for our officers is invited to attend.

Chili Wednesday

Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Ladies’ Altar Society is holding their Chili Wednesday from 11:30-1:30 on February 9 at the Parish Hall. $10 donation is requested and it will be Take Out only.

APL in Jefferson

Animal Protection League will be in Jefferson on Monday, February 14, from 10-3. Low cost vaccines and medications are available. Spay and neuter appointments are available by calling 903-753-7387.

Jeep Show

Big Cypress Corvette Club is sponsoring a Jeep Show in downtown Jefferson on March 11-12. There is a $30 entry fee. For more information, contact Hollis Shadden.

COVID Testing, Vaccines Available

Jefferson’s Amazing Hearts Homecare and Staffing LLC is able to provide both COVID-19 testing and vaccinations available to companies and individuals. Testing can be done at workplaces or other locations by appointment. Both Rapid Testing (15 Minutes) or PCR Testing (48-72 hours) are available. Groups of 50 are required to setup vaccination clinics. Testing and vaccines are available for both those with and without insurance. For more information or to schedule, call 903-742-4139.
