A new tradition comes back to downtown Jefferson next weekend.
Texas Bigfoot Conference founder Craig Woolheater changed lanes last year and launched a brand new annual event in downtown Jefferson— the March Miata Madness.
The Texas Miata Roundup has been hosted in alternating cites across Texas, but like many other events, festivities have been on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The event came to Jefferson last year and set to return later this month.
It could play host to 40 – 45 Mazda Miatas on East Austin Street in downtown Jefferson.
It is set from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. on March 26.
The “Show and Shine” event open to the public.
Judging and awards will follow the public viewing time.
The Mazda Miata falls into four generations of models.
The first generation running from cars made in 1990-1997.
The second generation includes models from 1999-2005.
The third generation is 2006-2015.
The fourth generation is models from 2016 to present.
Awards will be given to the top car in each of the four generations.
Best in Show will also be named.
The event promises to bring Miata owners from across the state of Texas and places beyond.
The historic Jefferson Hotel will serve as host hotel for the weekend.
Drives are planned to Lake O’ the Pines and up U.S. 59.
Dinner will include two sessions at Riverport Barbecue.
