A common question this time of year is “Where do I go to vote?”
Prior to this year, registered voters could only vote at their precinct voting location. However, Marion County Clerk Vickie Smith applied to the Texas Secretary of State for Marion County to have Countywide Polling Locations.
As a result, voters can cast their ballots at any polling location in Marion County starting with the March 3, 2020, primary election.
The polling locations, mailed out this week, are:
- MIMS VFD, 9902 FM 729, Avinger
- KELLYVILLE SENIOR CENTER BUILDING, 130 Kelly Park Road
- MARION COUNTY ELECTION BUILDING, 504 N. Alley Street
- SMITHLAND VFD, COMMUNITY MEETING ROOM, 8247 SH 49 East.
- JEFFERSON COMMUNITY CENTER, 501 N. Haywood Street
- 1st UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, FELLOWSHIP HALL, 500 Block of Line Street
- LONE OAK BAPTIST CHURCH, FELLOWSHIP HALL, 120 Watts Road
Polling locations are open from 7 am to 7 pm on Election Day, March 3.
Smith sent out a notice to media today indicating that an error had been made in the Spanish translation on the postcard, received by registered voters in the last few days, about the polling locations and that a new post card is in the process of being sent out.
