Medicare Enrollment
St. Paul United Methodist Church, along with Humana, is hosting a Medicare Enrollment Event starting at noon on Saturday at the Church. Jessilyn Edwards with Human will be on hand to answer questions about Medicare Advantage and regular Medicare plans. Open Enrollment goes through December 7. The event is free and open to the public.
Christmas
Jefferson’s Women at the Well of Encouragement Ministries is holding their 2022 Christmas Donation Campaign to raise funds to help provide a Happy Christmas for children in Marion County. Contributions can be either a cash donation or a gift of your choice, but should be received by December 5. Donations may be mailed to WATWOE, PO Box 603, Jefferson, TX 75657, dropped off at Elite Tax Services, 201 W Broadway, Suite A, or CashApp to $WATWOE19. Gifts will be distributed December 17. JJHS Drill
In a continuous effort to provide the safest environment possible for everyone at JJHS, we will conduct a campus evacuation drill on Friday, November 18th. We will load our students onto buses and drive them to the Kellyville Center about 8:30 AM. We will only be off campus for about an hour to an hour and a half. Our hope is that we will never need to evacuate our students, however, we want to be prepared in any event. Thank you for your support in this matter.
Grief Share
The Rev. Mark Crim, Pastor of First Methodist Church, will be leading a 4-week session of GriefShare on “Surviving the Holidays”. It will begin Sunday, November 13 from 4:00 – 6:00 PM. UFO Con
The First Texas UFO Con in Jefferson will be held on November 19 at the Jefferson Visitor’s Center. The new event, put on by Craig Woolheater of the Texas Bigfoot Conference, features speakers Mitchel Whitington, Nick Redfern, UFO Jane, Danie Alan Jones, Stephen Miles Lewis, George Jones, and a special Skyfishin’ nighttime event with Joey “UFO Magnet” George. Tickets are available via Eventbrite.com

Pancakes
The Jefferson Masonic Lodge will hold their Annual Pancake Supper from 5-7p December 12 at the Lodge, 310 N. Alley. The dinner operates on donations and proceeds go to the Masonic Lodge Scholarship Program.
Christmas Lights
Brushy Creek Campground on Lake O’the Pines will host their 3rd Annual Brushy Creek Christmas Drive-Thru Campsite Light Tour on December 16-17. Dinner
The Excelsior Hotel will offer Candlelight Dinners on December 2-3 and 9-10 at the hotel. Serving hours are 4:30-7:30 p.m. The dinner will feature a menu of salad, bread, chicken spaghetti, bread pudding, tea and coffee for $20. Coffee and dessert is $7. Reservations are recommended and for parties of 10 or more are required. Parties of 10 or more can also be accommodated on Thursday December 1 and 8 but must be reserved by November 27. Concert
Christ Episcopal Church will host the Candlelight Chamber Concert Series on December 3 and 7 at the church. Concerts will feature musicians from the Shreveport and Marshall Symphony Orchestras, made possible by a grant from Andy Shehee and Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Homes. The December 3 concert will feature a String Quartet, and December 7 will have a Bass Quintet. Both concerts start at 7 p.m. and are free and open to the public.
