Last Day to Pay Property Taxes Without Interest, Penalties; Office to Stay Open Until 8 p.m. Today

From Staff Reports

Today is the last day to pay your property taxes without incurring penalties and interest charges.

The Marion County Tax Office, 114 W. Austin St. Suite 100, will remain open today until 8 p.m. for residents to pay taxes. Their office will be closed on Monday, February 3.

“We want to work with the tax payers to solve the challenges they face in paying taxes,” said Marion County Tax Assessor/Collector Karen Jones. “We all dislike having to pay but we hope to make paying as painless as possible and there are a lot of options available.”

Jones said if taxpayers are unable to pay in full today, a variety of options exist including deferment, quarterly installments, and pay agreements.

Taxes can be paid in person, or online via their website (https://www.marioncountytaxoffice.com). Payments may also be placed in the drop box outside their offices over the weekend, but must be there by 8am Monday morning.
