JISD Considering School Opening Options at Tuesday Meeting, Swearing In of New ISD Police Chief

Tuesday’s JISD School Board 6 p.m. meeting will heavily focus on the fall campus openings as members discuss amending the calendar, COVID-19 protocols, guidelines on reopening, and salary implications.

Per the agenda (below) the board will address:

  • Swearing in of new ISD Police Chief
  • Updates related to guidelines and recommendations from TEA and Governor Greg Abbott
  • Approving Protocols Related to COVID-19 and the Start of School in the Fall
  • Amending the 2020-21 School Calendar per recommendations from TEA
  • Approval of Teacher Incentive Allotment Plan
  • Continuation of agreement with Karnack ISD for High School Students
  • Consideration of paying stipends to Sponsors/Coaches for Extra Duties which may be cancelled
  • Consideration of Collect-Ed LLC Erate Services Agreement
  • Appointing Official to calculate the Districts Effective Tax Rate
  • Approval of the Region 8 Contract
  • Discussion of Budget and Timeline for adoption
  • Consideration of DIstricts Property and Casualty Insurance Bds
  • Personnel – Retirements/Resignations, Hiring/Reassignments
