School Board to Consider Budget, Require Students to be On-Campus for Extra-Curricular Activities

Jefferson Independent School District Board of Directors will consider whether or not to require students to be on-campus to participate in extra-curricular activities at their August Board meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, August 11.

UIL is allowing virtual instruction students to participate in extra-curricular activities, but has left the final decision up to each school district.

Other Items on the Agenda include:

  • Discussion of the 2020-21 Proposed Budget
  • Setting the 2020-21 Proposed Maintenance and Operation (M&O) and Interest and Sinking (I&S) Tax Rates
  • Setting Dates for the Public Hearings on Budget and Tax Rates
  • Calling for the Board Elections in November
  • Approving the Joint Election Agreement with the County and City
  • Approval of a Concussion Oversight Team for 2020-21
