I am happy to get the word out that the Jefferson Ambassador Club is being re-born and structured under the guidance of the Marion County Chamber of Commerce.  Leading the effort are Chamber Board Members Doug Thompson and Jim Stacey, with Captains Peggy Walker and Robert Wooley.

According to Doug, the Goals and Duties of an Ambassador are to help

  • Welcome new Chamber members by attending ribbon cuttings
  • Serve as greeters at Chamber networking events and in the Chamber office
  • Serve as Ambassadors downtown during busy weekends helping provide information and guide service to tourists.
  • Handle Welcome Wagon Program  calling on possible new members with a gift basket full of items and advertisements from existing Chamber members
  • Network with existing members

Benefits serving as a member of the Chamber’s Ambassador Club Program would include

  • Increased recognition as a community leader
  • Provided a Vest and name tag identifying you as an Ambassador
  • Earn rewards and awards based on the level of participation – recognition will be at Chamber events and the Chamber website
  • Satisfaction and accomplishment of making a visit to Jefferson and Marion County enjoyable for the visitor and more profitable for our Chamber members.

Anyone interested in participating needs to know that the Marion County Chamber of Commerce’s Ambassadors are a prestigious group of volunteers who will provide membership mentoring to new and existing Chamber members and assist the Chamber staff with assuring that Chamber stakeholders are receiving their return on membership.  Ambassadors enjoy the rewards of making new contacts, strengthening relationships and accessing a wealth of information and resources.
