The Marion County Commissioners will hold a special meeting on Monday, March 15, 2021, to appoint a new Commissioner for Pct 2.
The appointment is to fill the vacancy left when former Pct 2 Commissioner Joe McKnight passed away in late January. The appointment will continue for the remainder of McKnight’s term which expires December 31, 2022.
Those wishing to seek election to the seat would need to file for a place on the ballot beginning in November 2021, with primary elections in March 2022.
